Nikola Tesla in Belgrade
Nikola Tesla Museum was founded in 1952 and is located in the centre of Belgrade in one of the residential villas from 1929. Tesla’s wish was that his relative Sava Kosanović inherits all the documentation and Tesla’s personal things, and this is why Belgrade Museum is the only one in the world that keeps original personal belongings of the great scientist. The museum also preserves the urn with Tesla’s ashes.
Nikola Tesla Museum and Electro-Technical Faculty
After the Museum we’ll walk to Electro-Technical Faculty where you will be able to see the statue of Tesla. You will be able to hear interesting stories about this institution’s history and biography of the famous scientist.
Museum of Science and Technics
After the Faculty we’ll go to Dorćol quart and visit the Museum of Science and Technics. It was founded in 1989 in the building of former public Thermal power factory of Dorćol. Here, we will discover information of the beginning of electrification of Serbia, interaction scientific centre, models of solar system etc.
Hotel Square Nine
On our way to Student Square we’ll discuss Tesla’s only visit to Belgrade in 1892. He stayed in the Hotel „Imperial” (nowadays hotel „Square Nine”) and gave a speech in Captain Miša building. Maybe Square Nine Hotel’s fancy restaurant would be the best place to discuss impressions after the tour. The symbolic menu „Electricity“ offers you an opportunity to try specially created meals dedicated to Tesla (order should be done in advance) so if you want to try specialties Tesla enjoyed, please make such an inquiry when booking the tour. We will order the menu in advance!
