Prince Miloš Venac Complex

There are numerous buildings and institutions inside this complex that speak about reach history of Kragujevac: Old Palace Church with the Parliament building from the time of Prince Miloš Obrenović, who’s portal hosted the basis of Serbian State – first adopted Serbian Constitution and all meetings of the Parliament even when the Parliament was moved to new capital Belgrade; Monument to the deceased Šumadija men made in 1932 by Antun Augustinčić; the Building of the city market from the 1929, one of the oldest indoor markets in Europe; Amidža Residence – the only part left from the prince’s palace from 1818 (the house of Palace keeper called Sima Milosavljević Paštrmac), Prince Mihailo Residence from 1860 – nowadays the National Museum with a library and art gallery with permanent expositions; the Building of First Kragujevac Gymnasium founded in 1833 and hosting a memorial-room; the Building of Prince’s Serbian Theater, founded in 1835; Museum “Old Foundry” located in an authentic building of a foundry built in the 80-s of the 19th century, one of rare preserved buildings of industrial architecture of that time. Exposition of this Museum tells about the beginning and development of industry in Serbia.
