Great honour was entrusted to Belgrade when it got the privilege to found a Museum devoted to life and deeds of one of the greatest scientists and inventors of all ages – Nikola Tesla. His discoveries, rotating magnetic field, Tesla coil, alternating currents etc., are the basis of modern world the way we know it. Importance of his patents and the size of his heritage tell more about the significance of the fact the only Tesla Museum in located in Belgrade.

Nikola Tesla Museum is located in the center of the city, in a residential villa built in 1929. The building, designed by famous Serbian architect Dragiša Brašovan, was used for various purposes till the 5th of December 1952 when authorities founded the Museum when all the collection arrived in Belgrade. American court pronounced a decree declaring Tesla’s nephew Sava Kosanović scientist’s only heir. Sava according to Tesla’s wish brought all documentation and personal belongings of Tesla to Belgrade.

The Museum is a unique cultural and scientific institution. This is the only Museum that preserves genuine things of Tesla: original documents, books, unique technical exhibits, plans and drawings. Interactive exhibition will let you literally feel electricity on your skin and learn about life of Tesla from a short but interesting film. A special part of the Museum is devoted to memorial space where the urn with ashes of Nikola Tesla. Every visitor can personally in peaceful ambient pay homage to this great scientist and inventor.
