Military Museum of Belgrade is located in the south-east bastion of the Belgrade’s Fortress in the building finished in 1924 for purposes of Military Geographic Institute. Since 1956 the building belongs to the Museum. The building, one of capital’s symbols, is surrounded by walls and the biggest and the most beautiful park of Belgrade – the Kalemegdan Park. Museum collection is exhibited both inside and outside, including heavy armament, cannons, tanks, howitzers from the period of the I and II World Wars.

Museum’s expositions are designed in order you travel in time starting from the first types of armory and tactics to modern military technologies. Turbulent history of Serbia has a lot to tell in this framework. Museum has lots of thematic exhibitions, memorial complexes and memorial rooms. Museum’s specialized library contains more than 15 000 books on history, history of art, archeology, museum studies and other similar areas of science. Nowadays the Museum has an impressive collection of objects divided into 12 expositions and a very representative photo collection with more than 100 000 images.
