Drive towards Fruška Gora, the ‘Serbian Holy Land’, home to 17 functioning Serbian Orthodox monasteries. Right on the edge of the Fruška Gora National Park, you will visit ethno complex Vrdnička kula. This peaceful and relaxing place, throughout the years has become a synonym for a family weekend full of joy and pleasure in the serenity of the linden and pine forests. If you are into adventure, feel free to experience the Adrenalin Park for children and adults within the ethno complex or just enjoy the sweets at the restaurant.

After a short drive through the magnificent nature of the Fruška Gora National Park, the excursion will take you to Sremski Karlovci, a real gem of Serbian culture and spirituality and a symbol of great wine production in Serbia. Sremski Karlovci acts as a ‘museum town’ with its baroque centre, the Patriarchal Court, the Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicholas and the first Serbian high school (gymnasium). Finish your tour of this charming town with wine and honey tasting at the region’s prominent winery Živanović and its Beekeping museum.

The beauty of Stopića cave can’t be compared with any other in Serbia; its dimensions (2000 m long and 50 m high) can’t leave visitors indifferent.

Stopića cave is a river type cave, through which the Trnava stream flows. Several hundred meters of the cave are open for tourist visits, including the Light Hall, the Dark Hall and the Great Hall with pools. Although not characterized by a large number of cave decorations, it is known for its big tubs, thanks to which it is considered to be one of the most beautiful caves of Eastern Europe.

After Stopića cave you will quickly drive to Sirogojno, mostly famous for the Old Village (Staro selo), the unique ethnological open-air museum and prominent “Sirogojno sweaters” made of raw wool. Uvac Lake & Sirogojno Open Air Museum

Whole day excursion

Depart from Zlatibor and ride to Uvac Special Natural Reserve, located between the mountains Javor and Zlatar. The main attraction of the reserve is its population of griffon vultures. The griffon vulture is quite rare species of birds of prey whose population in Uvac is the biggest in Europe. The bird’s wing span is about 3 m and they can weigh up to 11 kg, which makes it the biggest bird in Serbia. However, the griffon vulture is not the only attraction of the reserve; for centuries, the Uvac River has been making its way through the mountains, leaving deep meanders and creating caves that annually attract lots of tourists. The tour will take a boat trip and follow the river as it twists and turns through the impressive landscape, stopping at two caves called Ušak and Ledena (Ice). The most curios travellers will have a chance to hike for 30 minutes, accompanied by a guide all the way to the viewpoint, which offers an unforgettable view of the picturesque meanders of the Uvac River. Don’t forget to bring your camera and make the best photo of an impressive griffon. It’s a challenge!
